Skladba je inspirována nápěvy lidových písní. Pouze jednu uvádíme v původním znění, s variantou flažoletů, které lépe charakterizují náladu písně. Kytaře sluší temperamentní i lyrické motivy španělských písní a tanců. Krásu českých a moravských písní, které mají neméně bohaté varianty, jsou vyjádřeny touto formou, kterou si jistě rádi zahrajete v Kytici.

The festive suite, like many of Milan Zelenka's compositions, is inspired by real events. It is Christmas time at the author's cottage in the Iron Mountains, when bells ring throughout the region, and the Modletín Church is filled with a spiritually beautiful atmosphere.
Intermezzo and Last day of the year complete the festive mood of the beautiful region of the Iron Mountains.
